Porto and North Wine and Food Map is now available

The Porto and North of Portugal Enogastronomic Map is now available, which lists in a simple and intuitive way all the enoturistic spaces of the region.
The map, launched by the Tourism Office of the region, was just launched and contains information on places to visit, advises on gastronomic tastings and guidance on the demarcated wine regions.
The map has 23 products with Denomination of Origin Protected (DOP), has 11 points for visiting and 255 estates of wine tourism.
This tourist tool is available in two languages - Portuguese and Spanish.
The map, in pocket format, is available at tourist shops throughout the Porto and North region.
"In 2016 gastronomy represented 23% of the motivation factor for those who visit the region, right after City Breaks and Cultural Touring, which shows that it is really a strategic product of extreme importance for the promotion of the coming to the territory and for this reason even demanding that there be answers for those who are looking for the region "said Melchior Moreira, president of Tourism of Porto and North of Portugal.
The markets with the greatest appetite for this product are the Spanish and French, the same ones that are more looking for the region.
In 2017, in the accumulated between January and September and in comparison with 2016, there is an increase of 11.2% in visitors whose motivation is the gastronomy and wines.
The markets remain the same, in other words, Spain and France have the highest number of tourists, with an increase of around 17% in Spanish demand.
