Portugal Best Travel Destination Country in Condé Nast Traveler Awards
Neither Argentina, Brazil, United States, India, Italy, France, Mexico, Thailand, Turkey, Morocco or Spain. The preferred country for travel, among a total of 24 destinations to choose from, is Portugal. Left back 23 destinations all over the world.
It is the first time that Portugal wins this award, which is already in its fifth edition, surpassing the United States, Argentina, Spain, Italy and Thailand.
The choice was motivated by its landscapes, gastronomy, the beaches and the sympathy of the Portuguese people.
Winner of the 2013 Edition countries category of the annual awards of the CNT, it is the first time in five editions, Portugal conquers the distinction.
The magazine, points out the "special charm visible in their traditions, with cities that combine modernity with the visible weight of history", or the "landscapes and beaches that we reconcile with nature", "and a fundamental ingredient, the Portuguese, who seduce with its charm and friendliness".
"This award reinforces the visibility of Portugal as a tourist destination of excellence" stresses the "Turismo de Portugal" in a statement.
